MacCACHREN’s CRANDON Magic RETURNS with His 10th Consecutive Victory at the FAMED Crandon International Raceway
June 21, 2009 CRANDON, WIS. –
Saturday RACE Report:
An eight year absence for one of the winningest PRO racer ever to set foot in the famed dirt of Crandon International Raceway didn’t stop him from setting yet another record this past Saturday. Rob MacCachren started his #11 Rockstar Energy Racing Ford F150 from the fifth position in the land rush start and he never looked back.
Charging his race truck into the dangerous first turn, the man they call, “MacCrandon,” threaded the tight space of the two race trucks on either side of him as all three race trucks flew over the first jump in front of 20,000 screaming fans. MacCachren landed in the dirt and he set his sights on the other Rockstar Pro 2 piloted by Todd LeDuc.
DORR WINS THRILLING 1ST ANNUAL MOLE LAKE CASINO CUP RACE
June 21, 2009 CRANDON, WIS. – Under sunny skies and one of the largest off-road racing crowds in the history of the Crandon Brush Run, TORC Stock Truck off-road racer Mitch Dorr, Rockford, Ill., captured the 1st annual Mole Lake Casino Stock Truck Cup race and a lion’s share of the $10,000 purse driving a red Ford F150.
Danny Beauchamp, Jr., Escanaba, Mich., powered his way to an early lead and looked to be the eventual race winner, but succumbed to a spindle failure in Crandon’s notorious Potawatomi Turn One. Beauchamp flipped violently ending his race. He was uninjured. This opened the “door” for Mitch Dorr to move into the race lead. He was chased hard by Craig Metz, Rhinelander, Wis., and Don Demeny, Appleton, Wis.
The racers finished in that order with Dorr winning $3,000. He was presented a large Mole Lake Casino & Lodge silver Cup in Victory Circle by Sokaogan Mole Lake Band of Chippewa’s Tribal Community Chairman Arlyn Ackley, Sr. Ackley was joined by Tom Van Zile, also representing Mole Lake Casino & Lodge, in congratulating the three podium finishers.
