  • Danny Anderson will be your first finisher to capture VICTORY at the 2009 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge for the second year in a row for LVDC with Ronny Wilson right behind him. Randy Wilson finished 3rd with Harley Letner in 4th position

  • Randy starts his last lap 15 seconds behind his brother Ronny
  • Brian Parkhouse and Harley Letner banging fenders through the infield as Letner is on a mission to gain positions
  • Ebberts back on the course but is smoking in the rear end. Ebberts will not give up during this race, yesterday he finished the race in REVERSE and still finished 5th
  • SCORE Officials are watching the #114 of Ebberts afraid that his car will catch on fire

  • Danny Anderson in the LVDC Bunderson/Chevy is pulling away from the entire field
  • It looks like only 10 cars are out on their lead lap

  • Danny Anderson stops early at the start/ finish and SCORE officials made him stop twice. Danny got on the gas at the start of 7 and almost hit the krail
  • Brothers Ronny & Randy Wilson are still battling side by side trying to get by each other
  • Ebberts 2:32 behind Wilsons for 4th place
  • Byron Ashley back in a strong pace after his rollover early on

  • Randy Wilson and Ronny Wilson fighting for second place, both about two minutes behind Anderson with Ronny in third position by merely 5 seconds
  • Ebberts is still trying to get past the Wilson brothers but fighting
  • Cabo San Lucas' Julio Herrera still hanging with the leaders trying to catch
  • Letner has consistent lap times but insn't gaining on the leaders

3:24 PM

  • Danny Anderson has a HUGE lead, as Herrera, Ebberts and both Wilsons fight for third, within seconds of each other
  • Ebberts has them all on time but it's a close race
  • After 3 laps the physical position: Anderson, Herrera, Ebberts, Randy Wilson, Ronny Wilson
  • Three laps to go and Danny Anderson leads over both Wilson brothers who are racing side by side in front of Ebberts
  • Anderson has a 2 minute physical lead
  • Ronny started 1:30 behind Anderson so he will have to pick up the pace in order to take the lead
  • Kory Halopoff out of the race
  • Harley Letner currently 5 minutes behind the leaders
  • Pat Dean is sitting in the crowd with an injured shoulder
  • Byron Ashley now lapped by Danny Anderson

  • 118 Letner limping in with a right flat tire, pulling into the hot pits
  • Danny Anderson/ Pat Dean leading Class 1 with Julio Herrera out of Cabo San Lucas in second
  • Dale Ebberts got his transmission fixed and is running in the front, he's currently in third
  • Dale Link gets sideways off the Laughlin Leap and seems to be having problems as he starts his third lap
  • Harley Letner is back in the race and has alot of work to do in order to catch up with the leaders. Letner won yesterday's race and won't let anything get in his way to finish today's round
  • 104 - Armin Schwartz being towed out of the infield and OUT OF THE RACE
  • 103 - John Harrah lost his wheel at RM 2.5 and is stuck in the middle of the race course

  • 118 - Letner reported having issues and off the pace
  • Pat Dean/ Danny Anderson new race leader as Letner off the pace
  • RM 2.5 Byron Ashley rolled over
  • Kory Halopoff letting his car cool in the infield, he's not giving up yet he just wants to let his motor cool

  • 101 of Josh Rigsby can't get his car started at the start line, reported out of the race
  • Letner in the lead as the class 1's come into the infield
  • Harley is leading over Pat Dean who started side by side next to Letner by 38 seconds
  • After 1 lap: Letner, Dean, Schwartz, Herrera, Romans, Wilson, Ashley, Bujanda
  • Kory Halopoff seems to be having motor issues again

  • Gordon takes the win in SCORE Trophy Truck for the weekend with new driver Justin "Bean" Smith in second OVERALL for the weekend. Steele drove yesterday and had a few problems and finished 6th. He put Smith in the truck today for his first ever Trophy Truck race and finished 4th, only seconds behind second and third
  • Brian Collins finished today's race in second but DNF'd yesterday's round which will put him in 11th place for the weekend.
  • Clyde Stout finished off the weekend in third behind long time friend Cameron Steele

2:22 PM

  • BJ Baldwin lost the lead when his transmission went south and tried to finish the race in REVERSE. Baldwin did one complete lap in REVERSE and couldn't continue. Gordon took over the lead and raged hard all the way to the finish. Second place is very close to call between Clyde Stout, Justin Smith and Brian Collins.

1:49 PM

  • GORDON IN THE LEAD as BJ Baldwin loses tranny and now trying to get around the course in REVERSE. In order to finish the race BJ would have to finish two laps in reverse which will prove to be a difficult task
  • Gordon pulled his fastest lap of 7:26:05
  • Gordon is on his final lap
  • Clyde Stout tries to pass Smith in the infield and gets crazy on two wheels Smith holds his lead but Stout is only 2 seconds behind
  • Stout has Smith on corrected time and is chasing down Gordon for the lead
  • Only one lap to go and Gordon is in the lead with Stout in second and Smith in Cameron Steele's truck running in third Collins is putting the pressure on the leaders

  • Gordon starts his 7th lap as BJ comes into the infield and gets sideways trying to catch Gordon
  • BJ now 35.9 behind Gordon physically putting him 25 seconds in the lead
  • Clyde Stout 20 seconds in front of
  • BJ Baldwin is driving in REVERSE on the course very slow!! Baldwin out of the lead!!
  • 4 - Vildosola OUT OF THE RACE

  • Robby Gordon 6 seconds faster than his last lap
  • BJ Baldwin 41.5 physically behind Gordon which puts him in the lead by about 19 seconds
  • Jesse James stopped at RM 3.5
  • Rob MacCachren driving the #3 prerunner truck is trying hard to keep up with the pack of Trophy Trucks. MacCachren doesn't have the normal horsepower that he is used to him the #3 Trophy Truck but is hanging on and raging around the course
  • Justin Smith - 1:53 behind leaders in third
  • 54 - Jesse James out of the race
  • Brian Collins, who started last in the field of Trophy Trucks, is banging fenders with Larry Roseler

  • Vildosola is running half speed
  • Robby Gordon running 7:34 second lap
  • BJ Baldwin moves into the lead after 4 laps by 12 seconds
  • Justin Smith in 3rd right now in the #16 Trophy Truck only 59 seconds behind Baldwin
  • Larry Roseler, driving the #8 of Roger Norman, trying hard to to catch the leaders. Roseler had issues in the #88 so they decided not to race that truck and are going for a win today
  • Householder running 4:32 behind leaders
  • Jesse James 5 minutes behind leaders physically
  • Dan Vance, codriver in the #20 is okay but being taken to the hospital with a broken leg.
  • Nunly and Coyne limping

1:18 PM

  • Coyne is losing his rear shocks
  • Pierce's fuel cell smashed in, and the front end doesn't look to good. Both Jimco's rolled hard on the first lap, the Jimco crew is going to have alot of work to do before San Felipe 250- 35 & 20 OUT OF RACE
  • Bobby Baldwin is out of the race
  • Vildosola is off the pace as he doesn't come back into the infield
  • BJ Baldwin came thru 61 seconds behind Robby Gordon, currently 1 second after corrected time
  • Justin "Bean" Smith running neck and neck within seconds of Baldwin and Gordon
  • Clyde running 2:25 behind leaders

  • 89 Rusty Stevens rolled and rear end is locked up ,SCORE officials can't pull him off the course at RM 5
  • After 2 laps it's Gordon in front by 29 seconds, Vildosola in second, BJ flies off the leap in third currently 1 minute physically behind Gordon. BJ is currently fighting for the lead with Justin Smith in the #16 as they started side by side and came in to start their third lap only seconds apart
  • Clyde Stout running 4th with Bobby Baldwin in 5th

  • Robby Gordon puts on a show in front of fans in the lead
  • Justin Lofton rolled hard at RM 5.5, passenger reported to have a broken leg
  • Robbie Pierce also rolled in the infield, everyone is okay but are out of the race
  • Vildolsola is 16 seconds behind Gordon
  • Collins pulls into the hot pits

Adam Wik Takes the Lead in Class 10 as Pfankuch takes the lead in SCORE Lite for Double Victory

12:00 PM

  • Adam Wik will cross the finish line for a win in today's round as Adam Pfankuch finds victory for the second time today!! Pfankuch and Bruckmann fought hard but in the end Pfankuch had an easier time passing the Class 10 Cars
  • Bruckmann is excited for 2009 and says he's proud of Michelle as she finished 3rd yesterday for her first SCORE Lite race. Michelle said that riding with Vic today taught her a lot more about what she needs to learn and what she can do to be faster in the SCORE Lite class.

  • Adam Wik laps Salgado as he strengthens his lead in front of Lawrence by 50 seconds
  • Worley pulls into the hot pits, he was running third but has now pulled into the main pits and will be out of the running for victory. Worley pulled into the main pits so his team could fuel his car.
  • Pfankuch and Bruckmann are still battling, Vic will have to pick it up a notch in order to come out on top
  • 1203 - Jake Jones car is on fire but under control, he is being towed to the high school for his crew to pick up

Adam Wik Takes the Lead in Class 10 as Bruckmann and Pfankuch Fight for the Lead in SCORE Lite

11:43 AM

  • After 5 laps Wik is pulling away from the rest of the pack, he stregthened his physical lead to 45 seconds
  • Pfankuch maintains his lead over Bruckmann by 8 seconds but we still have three laps to go
  • Pfankuch and Bruckmann are getting into some traffic which is playing into their race strategy. Both are passing Class 10 cars and going for a stronger lead
  • Kevin Carr is staying strong in Class 5 with three laps to go he maintains his lead by over 1 minute
  • The 1249 of Matt Kupiec is off the pace and running 4:50 behind the leaders in SCORE Lite

11:36 AM

  • Larry Job was only 11 seconds behind the leader, Adam Wik, took off the start for his 5th lap and popped the tranny. He is OUT OF THE RACE
  • Adam Wik now has to finish strong in front of Mike Lawrence who is 44 seconds behind and Scott Gailey who is 53 seconds behind
  • Bruckmann and Pfankuch are neck in neck and it's going to be close until the finish
  • Vic Bruckmann is smoking fast right now as Pfankuch is trying to hold his lead, Bruckmann has to finish within 30 seconds of Pfankuch to claim victory in todays race

11:27 AM

  • Adam Wik moves into the lead over the entire SCORE Lite class as he comes into start his 4th lap only 5 seconds behind Pfankuch. Wik started 1 minute behind Pfankuch so he is leading on corrected time
  • Brent Parkhouse still running strong and currently 4th through the start
  • The Class 10 race is getting intense as the leaders started their 4th laps the top 4 drivers, Job, Wik, Lawrence and Gailey are all within a few seconds of each other
  • Robert Encinas is just before RM 4 and his working

11:18 AM

  • Gailey, Job, McBeath and Lawrence all finished their second lap within 3 SECONDS of each other
  • Job got Gailey just as they left the infield for the lead. Job won't be able to win the weekend as they DNF'd on the last lap of yesterday's race but he has a fighting chance to prove today he can make it to the winners circle
  • Pfankuch still in the physical lead, 25 seconds in front of Dan Worley and only 29 seconds in front of Bruckmann. Bruckmann is currently in the lead on corrected time by 1 second after two laps. It's going to be a close race in both the SCORE Lite Class and the Class 12 race

11:07 AM

  • Scott Gailey is your current race leader in Class 10, he started today's race 3 minutes behind McBeath so he is going to have to make up some time if he wants to come out on top for the weekend
  • McBeath is only 8 seconds behind Gailey with Mike Lawrence 27 seconds behind
  • Job has moved up one position and is only 45 seconds behind the leader
  • Adam Pfankuch in the 1200 is still in the lead with Dan Worley, Vic Bruckmann and Brent Parkhouse within 30 seconds of him
  • Kevin Carr leading over Albanez in Class 5 after 1 lap

Gailey/ McBeath on the first row and Job on a mission to take off where Menzies finished

11:00 AM

  • Class 10's are off the line and McBeath gets the pole position but Scott Gailey and son Pat are close behind
  • Pfankuch, driving the #1200 of Rick St John, takes the lead of the line in front of Worley
  • Vic Bruckman is driving the 1206 with his wife Michelle taking over the co-driving duties. Michelle finished yesterday's race in third taking her first ever podium in the SCORE Lite class

10:30 AM

  • The next group to go off the line today will be the SCORE Lites, Class 10 and Class 5. Yesterday Bryce Menzies was behind the wheel in the #1007 of Larry Job and led the entire day until the last lap. The CV bolts backed out and caused Menzies to DNF. Yesterday was Menzies first time behind the wheel in a desert race and proved that he has what it takes to race both in the desert and in short course. Job will be behind the wheel today in search of landing on the winners circle.

Greg Adler Cruises Around for Victory at Laughlin Desert Challenge

Heidi Steele, Greg Adler and Gavin Skilton Victorious at SCORE Season Opener

10:20 AM

  • Adler had an easy day today and just had to finish in order to come out on top for the 2009 season opener. Gavin Skilton and Heidi Steele were also victorious this weekend in the season opener and

9:34 AM

  • 1506 - Gary Messer is currently leading in the Sportsman Truck class with Rob Anderson in the 1503 close behind
  • Greg Adler is still leading in Class 8 and running 9 minutes lap times as Clyde Stacy is currently running 3 minutes behind
  • Gavin Skilton just has to finish in the Stock Mini #779 to take the win this weekend

9:18 AM

  • 719 - Chris Taylor is currently leading in Class 7, leading over Dan Chamlee by 1 minute 14 seconds
  • Jose Canchola Jr in third only 6 seconds behind Chamlee
  • Heidi Steele is running strong in both classes with her new teammate leading in Class 6
  • #1502 - Jonathon Libby blown tranny

9:10 AM

  • 704 AJ Rodriguez stopped on the first hill and was only 13 seconds off the leader of Jose Canchola
  • Heidi Steele in the #718 seems to be a little off the pace, she may have pulled into the hot pits
  • Chris Taylor in the 719 is currently running in 3rd place, 1:10 behind the leader
  • Greg Adler is cruising around the course, as he told us earlier, currently 1 minute in front of Clyde Stacey.

Greg Adler in Front/ Heidi Steele Pulls Double Duty in Class 6 and Class 7

8:50 AM Greg Adler will start on the front row next to Clyde Stacy and said that he plans to take it easy and have some fun today. Adler won yesterday's race while his competitor rolled in the last turn. Adler just has to have a strong clean race in order to take the win for the weekend.

Heidi Steele, who won in the #601 Lucas Oil/ Yokohama Class 6 (Unlimited Mini Truck) will switch vehicles today and race the #718 (Open Production Mini Truck)

In the #1547 is the Trophy Truck of Cameron Steele being driven in the Sportsman Class by Justin "Bean" Smith who will be driving the Trophy Truck in the SCORE Trophy Truck division. Steele hasn't been able to race Laughlin in a few years as he is the commentator on ESPN for the Winter XGames in Aspen, Colorado. Steele had planned on his teammate Rick Geiser racing in today's race but Rick was injured when he took the #16 truck off the Laughlin Leap on thursday night. Geiser is okay but his back is very sore.

Adam Pfankuch WINS Saturday & Sunday for Victory in the 2009 SCORE Season Opener

Adam Pfankuch WINS 2009 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge, Burgess 2nd and Justin"Bean"Smith in 3rd!

8:00 AM Adam Pfankuch drove strong and hard all morning to come out of the 2009 SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge Victorious in his championship #1600. Adam said that his "Major motor outran Burgess' Fat motor all day and it was nice to look back and smile because he couldn't catch me." Pfankuch will now get in the #1200 SCORE Lite of Rick St John and is looking to finish once again in the winners circle.

The 552 of Alonso Angulo captured his first win today as he was the only Class 5/1600 to finish the race. Angulo said that he's been waiting 5 years for a win and can't wait for San Felipe!

7:36 AM Pfankuch maintains the lead in the championship #1600 car by 15 seconds over Brian Burgess. The two started side by side so Burgess will have to make up some time on this next lap in order to take the win.

Justin Smith, who started 14th off the line has moved up and is currently in 7th position. Smith will have to push hard and finish within a minute of Burgess & Pfankuch in order to come out victorious. Smith had issues in yesterday's season opener. The rear hub bearing came loose on his car which caused him to have no rear brakes. Smith, also known as "Bean", pushed hard to catch the leaders and rolled the car. He got back on course to finish the race but not without difficulty. Justin will get out of his 1-2/1600 and get in the #16 Trophy Truck to practice in the Sportsman Truck class as Cameron Steele is putting him in the truck for the SCORE Trophy Truck division. Steele had to fly back to Aspen, Colorado last night to work at the Winter XGames and chose to put his protege Justin "Bean" Smith as his backup driver.

After 5 laps, Smith is 2:25 behind the leaders.

1648 - Sparky Wilbur fixed his car and is back in the race but rolled at RM 2.

7:28 AM Adam Pfankuch and Brian Burgess stayed strong for the first lap, they were side by side at the end of their first lap coming into the infield and down the straight away. Pfankuch got Burgess by the start of the second lap and now has about 20 second lead on Burgess.

  • 1648 - Sparky Wilbur is being pushed off the course by SCORE officials at the start of his third lap.
  • 1616 - Cody Robinson is in the hot pits
  • 1645 - Eric Hefley reported out of the race
  • RM 2.5 1611 Arturo Velazco rolled his car and is already back on his wheels and on the course

7:00 AM Adam Pfankuch and Brian Burgess were your leaders in yesterday's heat and will have to make their way through the traffic as SCORE has inverted the starting order. 18 Class 1-2/1600's will start today's race in the following order:
