he lost power steering and is looking for parts. He had
the physical lead but lost power steering so he's now
just looking to finish the race.
- RP films Johnny reported puking in
the helicopter, the helicopter is landing now to drop
him off

front of Shannon Campbell. JR started 7th while Campbell
started 43rd, on time JR has a 2 minute lead on Campbell.

- Pirate 4x4's Lance Clifford just returned
from Sledgehammer Slide and reported that Randy Slauson
was about 3 minutes ahead of JR.
- He then moved to Claw and reported
that Slauson and JR were bumper to bumper with Dean Bulloch
about 5 minutes behind the leaders.
- Shannon Campbell who started in the
back of the pack has made his way into 4th physically,
which puts hims 7 minutes behind the leaders. It's going
to be a close call between Randy Slauson, Pirate4x4's
JR and Shannon Campbell!!
9:30AM Fox Shox Update
-RJ Brown just walked thru the pits and
reported that he has no forward gears
- JR Brown and Randy Slauson are battling
bumper to bumper trying to get thru Check 7. These two
raced together in the prerun King of the Hammers last
year and won. Now they are battling back and forth. Randy
had to go back to Riverside late last night to rebuild
his motor and his team reported that it was still nocking
this morning.

-Jody Everding just pulled into the start/finish
with a blown motor and is out of the race
- Brad Lovell broke at RM 2 with radiator
issues
- Tracy Jordan got lost and is currently
at Check 12 as the leaders are just coming into Check

- Pistol Pete at Check 2 having wiring
issues, just called in to us directly and told us he has
a few burnt wires. Something caught on fire resulting
in wiring issues.

- Casey Currie is one of the few desert racers that is
putting his foot into rockcrawling today. He is teaming
with Campbell Motorsports' Nick Campbell for todays race.

-The bonfire is still burning hot and the crowd is hanging
out there as the sky's start to drop some rain into the
Lucerne Valley. All vehicles were supposed to stage at
6:30AM but only a few early risers are ready to rock and
roll.

Johnson Valley, CA – Pistol Pete Sohren confirmed with DIRTnewz that he willing be competing in the upcoming newest Rock-Sport event, King of the Hammers.
Slated to be held on February 22, 2008, Sohren will enter a field of over 50 competitors from both the desert racing and professional rockcrawling disciplines, in an event that will shock the off road motor sports as one of the most exciting venues seen in the industry in many years.
Johnson Valley, California (February 7, 2008) – Johnson Valley OHV Area will be home to the first of its kind, a Rock-Sports marathon event entitled, “King of the Hammers,” held in the Southern California rock canyons that some argue gave birth to the rock crawling industry over ten years ago.
