1:25 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- The green flag dropped and Johnny Greaves pulled away from the field until the right front axle broke in turn three and Douglas and the rest of the Pro 4's passed him
- Carl Renezeder made his move on the last two laps charging hard and moving his way into third place
- Douglas ran hard and captured his first win of the season!! Douglas has run hard the entire season and finally pulled off his first win of the season!!
1:20 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Kyle Leduc moves into 4th place and then slows way down and has to be towed off the course
- #47 of Jenkins rolls hard in turn two and the Bully Dog pace truck pulls onto the track to allow course workers to get Jenkins off the track
- CORR calls for a GREEN WHITE CHECKERED Finish
1:10 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Rick Huseman and Carl Renezeder fight for third place and get into each other at the bottom on 'Monster Mountain' as Carl gets kicked up onto the krail. Carl is a lap down and out of hunt (for now) as the field passes him and the Bully Dog pace truck pulls onto the track. The pace truck slows way down to allow Carl Renezeder to get off the k-rail and catch up to the lead lap.
- At the restart it's Johnny Greaves in the lead thru turn 1 and Douglas and Huseman fighting for second
- Carl Renezeder re-started the race in last place and is fighting to get by Tim Herbst
1:00 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Greaves and Huseman on the front row and Greaves gets the lead in turn one
- Douglas makes the pass on Huseman in turn three as Ed Herbst and Travis Coyne get into each other in turn one
- Adrian Cenni can't get ahold of his truck and spins out on lap #3
- CURT LEDUC OUT OF THE RACE
- Leduc's son Kyle is fighting to hang onto his 6th place position
12:45 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Whelchel out of the hunt as he falls to the back of the pack
- Leduc on two wheels McGrath sideways as Rob MacCachren tries to pass
- Carl Renezeder pulling away from the field
- Carl just popped his right rear tire off the bead, he will have to hold on to the lead for the final lap!!!
- Jeremy McGrath gets a flat as does Todd Leduc
- Rob MacCachren makes his move and tries to get Renezeder in the last turn but will have to settle for second
- Carl Renezeder takes the win again with a right rear flat tire during the entire last lap!!
12:40 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Rob MacCachren moves into 6th place at the start of lap 7
- After mandatory caution Whelchel gets the lead in front of Renezeder going thru turn one and starts to pull on Carl
- Rob MacCachren moving closer and closer to the front of the field is now in 5th place starting lap 10
- It's three wide, Rob MacCachren, Jeremy McGrath and Todd Leduc all looking for second place
- Whelchel gets sideways and Carl Renezeder moves back into the lead
- Jerry Whelchel gets all over the track and Rob MacCachren gets by, Rob MacCachren is in 4th at the start of lap 12
- Carl Renezeder looking for a repeat of yesterday's Pro 2 race
12:35 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Whelchel passes Adler on lap 4
- Adler gets into the #9 of Ricky Johnson and throws him sideways
- Todd Wyllie all over the place and spins out in turn 6
- Rob MacCachren moves his way to 7th place on lap #4
- Adrian Cenni sideways at the bottom of 'Monster Mountain' causing the remainder of the field to slam on the brakes
- Cenni makes it around half a lap and pulls off the track, out of the race
- Carl is holding his lead
- Jerry Whelchel making his move and is now pulling on the #15 of McGrath
12:30 PM LIVE UPDATE —
- Johnny Greaves pulls away from the pace car and tries to head for the pits but doesn't make it and is pulled off the track by course workers
- Adler holds onto his leading position for three turns as Carl Renezeder pulls away from him
- McGrath passes Adler for second position in turn five and it's now Renezeder and McGrath vying for that top spot
- Adler and Jerry Whelchel battle for third place as Todd Leduc seems to be slightly falling off the pace. It seems he doesn't have the same truck that he had in Pomona
- Rob MacCachren tries to make his way thru the pack as he had to start 14th due to a failed power steering unit
- Turn 2 of lap 3, Whelchel and McGrath door to door banging fenders for the second spot
11:59 AM LIVE UPDATE —Opening ceremonies have begun and the Pro 2 race is about to get underway. We just heard from the Menzies Motorsports pit and Rob MacCachren was able to make it back to the track. He was sidelined during qualifying due to a failed power steering unit. The unit caught on fire and Rob MacCachren wasn't able to finish qualifying. He will start 14th and have his work cut out for him as he tries to make his way to the front of the pack.
Greg Adler will start on the pole for his first time this season. Adler, in the Bully Dog/ 4 Wheel Parts Pro 2 has had a rough start of the season, will start next to Pro 2 rookie Johnny Greaves. Although Greaves may be a rookie in the Pro 2 class, he is no rookie to CORR. With 60 wins under his belt since CORR took over in 1998, Greaves knows how to make his way around the track. We'll have to see how things play out in today's Pro 2 race as the race goes LIVE on NBC in 7 minutes!!
Todd Leduc will start in the second row next to yesterday's winner Carl Renezeder. The two battled side by side yesterday and they will be banging at each others doors today as Carl goes for his 63rd career win. At Rounds 5 & 6 of CORR racing in Pomona, California Todd Leduc captured his first back to back wins of his career and is looking for yet another win today.
Pro 2 Champion Jerry Whelchel and Monster's Jeremy McGrath are lined up side by side, both hungry for a win.

10:20 AM LIVE UPDATE —After capturing victories in both Pro 2 and Pro 4 races during yesterday's Round 7 Carl Renezeder takes the top spot in Pro 2 Round 8 Qualifier here at Chula Vista International Raceway.
Rob MacCachren sidelined by what seems to be an easy fix, qualified 14th. He will have to make his way to the front of the pack the hard way today. With only an hour to go until Opening Ceremonies Rob MacCachren's Rockstar/ Menzies Motorsports team will have to be quick in the pits in order to get the truck ready in time for Round 8.
CORR is running a tight schedule as today's race will be televised LIVE on NBC at 12 NOON. Be sure to check out the action here as well as NBC. Opening ceremonies will begin at 11:30 with the Pro 2 race following at 12:10 PM.
