Pomona, CA (June 8, 2008)—The field of Pro 4's was stacked Sunday afternoon as the biggest stars and racers in off road racing lined up against each other in front of 10,000 fans packed into the LA Fairplex-Pomona CORR Stadium. With the fans standing on their feet the nation short course warriors sped down the front stretch in search of victory.
In the end after a very long 18 laps, it was Rick Huseman driving the #3 FABTECH/Toyo Tires/TRD Toyota Pro 4 that roared across the finish line taking the victory among the biggest stars in off road racing.
Huseman and fellow Toyota TRD teammate, Monster Energy Johnny Greaves, driving matching Toyota TRD powerplants, jumped out to a commanding lead before the halfway point of the race and then once the green flag dropped signaling the second half of the race, Greaves suffered mechanical problem with his drivetrain and that sidelined the #4 for the remainder of the race.
Rockstar CORR racing legend, Curt LeDuc, charged hard from the middle of the pack and made the final turn hoping to podium, but not before he tangled with Red Bull's Steve Barlow who ran solid all race long. LeDuc was passed at the last turn as Barlow ran fast to the checkers.
Finishing in third on the podium was Amsoil's Scott Douglas who fought off the charges from the field throughout the race.
POMONA, Calif.—Leading the entire race, wire-to-wire, Todd LeDuc drove his Rockstar/Makita Pro 2 to his second victory of the weekend in front of a packed house of cheering fans. LeDuc qualified mid-pack, however the inversion put him in the front row and that faired well for the young Rockstar/Makita sponsored racer.
LeDuc jumped out to an early start and ran in clean air throughout the race pulling away from the competition. The followers in the lead pack chasing down the young LeDuc included 6-time Supercross Champion, Ricky Johnson and the hardcharging Jerry Whelchel in the Chet Huffman Motorsports race truck.
The entire field of Pro 2's put on one of the best races of the weekend as they delighted the fans with massive double-up jumps and a fair amount of carnage between 25 Pro 2 trucks that took to the race track. Rounding out the top five was veteran Skyjacker sponsored racer, Scott Taylor and Monster Energy's Johnny Greaves, who is racing Pro 2 for the first time in his career here in 2008.
POMONA, Calif. – Todd LeDuc used the luck of the draw and a dominant race truck to complete a sweep of the Pro 2 class main events during the Championship Off-Road Racing series weekend at the Los Angeles County Fairplex.
LeDuc, 29, who had led every lap en route to his first win of the season on Saturday repeated that performance on Sunday, thanks to a fortunate inversion of the top qualifiers that moved him from eighth on the starting grid to the pole.
POMONA, Calif.—Hailing from Crandon, Wisconsin, home of arguably the greatest off road race track in the United States, Jeff Kincaid pulled out all the stops this weekend in search of victory. Kincaid, a 5-time CORR Pro Lite champion, threw his name back into the hat of CORR Pro Lite racing after the 2007 season was captured by Robert Naughton. Kincaid raced only the WSORR Series in 2007, however the numbers of Pro Lites did not reach the level they were at CORR, where Kincaid has been crowed champion 5 different times. Kincaid returned to cross country treks and here in the mecca of Los Angeles, California, in front of 10,000 fans in a packed stadium and on NBC Sports, Kincaid dominated the field of Pro Lites out pacing any other challengers to take the victory.
Finishing second was Robert Naughton, who was blacked flagged in Round 5 for rough driving, but here in Round 6 he ran his #54 ReadyLift Ford Ranger fast enough to finish on the podium once again. Naughton caught up with the DIRTnewz Crew on Sunday morning and explained that Saturday's miscue with Bryce Menzies was a brain-fart and that he had spoke and apologized to Menzies for the mistake.
On the heels of the 2007 CORR Champion was Marty Hart and Rodrigo Ampudia who both pushed hard to catch the leaders.
POMONA, Calif.—Racing by its nature would say it probably had to happen sooner or later, and Sunday was the first time in six rounds of the 2008 Championship Off-Road Racing Series (CORR) that the six-driver, seven-vehicle Menzies Motorsports did not visit victory lane at least once. Rob MacCachren finished second in Pro Buggy and Brock Krahenbuhl picked up a third in Single Buggy to keep the popular Las Vegas-based team on the podium.
Newport Beach, CA (June 7, 2008)— Round five of the Championship Off Road Racing season brought some of the best racing yet as the series’ top drivers battled for every position on the track. On a day that had hotly contested races in both the Pro 2 and Pro 4 classes, the Pro 4 Jason Baldwin Memorial Cup Pro 4 race saw a continuation of the rivalry between existing champion Carl Renezeder and Monster Energy Drink/Forest County Potawatomi star Johnny Greaves.
POMONA, Calif.— It was a classic Johnny Greaves come from behind run to the front and that made Round 5 more exciting than it ever could be. However, in the final turn before the checkers it was the affable Johnny Greaves that suffered mechanical failure that made his Monster Energy Pro 4 loop the last turn and give the hard fought battle to Carl Renezeder dirving the Lucas Oil Pro 4.
The right front stub axle exploded in the middle of the turn as the pit crew in the hot pits heard the exploding metal components that sidelined Johnny Greaves from the classic come from behind run.
Greaves failed to qualify and in between qualifying and the race the Greaves crew swapped out the T-Case and transmission leading up to the start of the race. The #4 started dead last and weaved some Monster Energy magic all the way to the front until he suffered mechanical failure forcing his hand to allow the top three to get by him.
Greaves had chased Renezeder the entire race and finally got by him, but not before Carl stayed close and postioned himself for the blast by Greaves to take the win.
Scott Douglas drove fast all race long and claimed the second spot followed by Kyle LeDuc who started off the race leading but fell back to finish on the podium for his second straight race.
CORR Champion - Robert Naughton Blacked Flagged for Taking Out Menzies Young Gun - Bryce Menzies
POMONA, Calif.—The inversion was drawn at six trucks today and that put Jeff Kincaid in the second row and it didn't take long for him to rail to the front and once he got his Toyota / BFGoodrich Pro Lite to the front he never looked back.
Rookie-Bryce Menzies started on the front row and ran fast defending charges from the top racers in the class, but a seemingly frustrated Robert Naughton ended up taking out the #7 Pro Lite in the final turn of the race track. Naughton pushed his way into the door of Bryce Menzies and the resulted in a black flag for Naughton. The black flag forced Naughton to pull into the hot pits as the field raced by and put him at the back of the pack.
Maxxis' Marty Hart drove his KOLPIN sponsored truck around Pomona's big track here and ended up finishing second in front of Casey Currie who held off the competition for the final lap. Rookie hot shot, Shannon Campbell, drove his Monster Energy/Southwest Ground Control Pro Lite across the finish line after running hard. Campbell, a world-champion rockcrawling / rockracing racer is making headway in his quest to get to the podium.
POMONA, Calif.—CORR's Pro 2 field took to the track here in Pomona in search of the checkered flag all hoping to claim victory. After the inversion, KMC Wheels Alan Pflueger started in the pole position but faded after a couple laps and end up in the back of the pack after spinning and being hit like a pinball in the final turn. Once the field opened up, Jerry Whelchel, Rob MacCachren, Todd LeDuc, Ricky Johnson and Scott Taylor all ran to the front battling for the lead spot. Rockstar's Rob Mac ran fast running down the top three, but ended up getting banged around by Ricky Johnson and Todd LeDuc.
LeDuc jumped to the front of the pack as MacCachren and Johnson became tangled up momentarily. Todd LeDuc never looked back and ran to the front capturing his first victory of the season. Monster Energy's Jeremy McGrath rounded out the top three after yet another solid performance by the world-class motocross champion.

MacCachren won the Pro Buggy race while Freeman remained undefeated in 2008 by winning his fifth straight in Single Buggy.
