Newport Beach, CA - April 23, 2008 –—Championship Off Road Racing is thrilled to officially sign a five year contract with the Fairplex in Pomona. CORR will be racing at this outstanding venue three times each year, including kicking off the 2008 season on April 26-27.
“LA may be one of the biggest and best venues for off road racing and we are ecstatic to sign with the Fairplex; now CORR can bring three weekends a year of high intense racing to the LA area,” said Cissy Baldwin, CORR C.O.O.
The Fairplex in Pomona is the site of the first sold out crowd for CORR in May of 2007. In 2008, CORR has constructed a brand new track that is even more exciting and challenging for CORR’s drivers. The new track is composed of asphalt, dirt, elevation changes, and several high flying jumps to keep the crowd entertained.
Home of the LA County Fair, the Fairplex grounds cover 543 acres and include 325,000 square feet of modern column-free indoor exhibit space in eight spacious exhibit halls; scenic parks, plazas and picnic areas; a historic train exhibit; 12 acres of carnival grounds; and approximately 250 acres of paved parking areas to accommodate 30,000 vehicles. The Fairplex in Pomona also hosts the NHRA Winternationals, NHRA Twilight Cruise, Off Road Expo and more than 500 other events throughout the year. Over three million people visit the Fairplex in Pomona each year.
Gates open at 8:30AM on Saturday and Sunday for this weekend’s race at the Fairplex in Pomona. General Parking is located through Gate 17 off of Fariplex Dr. The Fairplex in Pomona is located in Los Angeles County, the largest county in the USA with a population of over nine million residents.
