Saturday Pro-2 Cup Qualifier Webcast
Chula Vista , Calif.—Ricky Johnson and Todd LeDuc had words at the finish line challenging each other to the classic dual in the dirt...it was left at that. Johnson said, "You're stuck in little league." You could say that their is a pending war between LeDuc and Johnson.
The winner of the great racing action was Dan VanDenHuevel who outlasted multiple charges from both Johnson and LeDuc at different times. However, each and every time VanDenHuevel withstood the tough competition putting his Amsoil/Kuhmo Pro-2 in the top spot after a full day of wild off road racing.
The carnage in the back of the pack was huge as Jesse Jones was the first to destroyed body panels followed by Steve Sourapas, Mark Porter and a host of others.
Contender, Rob MacCachren suffered a blown transmission right after the mandatory competition yellow flag and that ended Rob Mac's day.
Renezeder lost an idler pulley right off the start after he rushed to get to the race course as the first parade lap was well underway.
Monster's Jerry Whelchel and Travis Coyne ran in the middle of the pack and never had the opportunity to run with the leaders. Alan Pflueger drove his KMC Wheels Pro-2 around the track chasing from sometimes the fourth and fifth position, but he could not climb into the top three.

Ricky Johnson DUMPS Toyo
Tires and Dons BFGoodrich Tires
Chula Vista , Calif.—It was rumored about 10-days ago, that Ricky Johnson and perhaps Josh Baldwin were interested in switching back to BFGoodrich Tires for the next round at Chula Vista and Ricky Johnson has indeed donned the BFGoodrich Tire brand once again.
Johnson, driving the Baldwin Racing truck, has made the switch quietly here at Chula Vista. But we all know that anything Ricky Johnson does is not too quiet. Look for Ricky Johnson more competitive than ever on BFGoodrich rubber.
Will Josh Baldwin follow? The tires wars are going off here at Chula Vista making for some interesting working among the tire compaines. Rubber was being grooved heavy at the BFGoodrich Pits.

Danny Ebberts, driving the Ebberts Pro Lite entertained everyone when he missed turn three and drove over the top of the berm and into a parked five-ton tow truck. The accident left the front chrome bumper of the tow trunk bent and wrinkled, but that didn't stop Ebberts from getting back to the track for practice.
Robert "Fig" Naughton was towed off the race course with what is speculated to be a drivetrain issue. His truck motor was revving and spinning without any issues as he was dragged back to the pits.
Driving the Papa's N Beer Pro 2, Rodrigo Ampudia Jr. put the new Keith Stamperd built race truck into a soft berm that sidelined him from the race track.
Johnny Greaves and Rick Huseman pushed their Toyota Tundra's aroudn the race track without any problems dialing in what may be a serious dual between the Toyota's this weekend.
Ricky Johnson and Rob MacCachren both railed their respective trucks around this one-mile race track without any issues working on the final setup for today's race. MacCachren said, "I feel good and the truck has responded well to our adjustments. I'm looking forward to this weekend's racing action."
Jesse Jones driving the Toyo Tires Pro 2 told Dirtnewz Saturday morning, "I'm struggling this weekend. I hope to get it dialed in but so far we have really been struggling with the proper setup." Jones, a veteran desert racer is preparing to race the SCORE Tecate Baja 1000 in only 6-weeks.
