Post & MacCachren WIN BACK - To - BACK with SCORE Baja 250 Victory

SCORE Officials Recall Unofficial Results Issued on Race Weekend and Declare Riviera Racing Champs!

ENSENADA, Mexico—Mark Post and Rob MacCachren were named the overall winners including capturing the win in the elite Trophy Truck class after SCORE officials reviewed all the information provided to them involving an incident with the # 3 Riviera Racing Trophy Truck.

At the finish line, Alan Pflueger was announced as the winner, but that was later retracted after SCORE President, Sal Fish, met with his staff of officials to review the entire detainment of SCORE Trophy Truck driver, Mark Post, by police officials only 100 yards from the finish line.

Ensenada: Baja's Off Road Epicenter for SCORE Baja 250

ENSENADA, Mexico—Many stories of triumphant and tragedy have come out of this year's SCORE Baja 250. Facing the ominous perils of the rugged Baja terrain off road racers overcame a multitude of challenges facing them throughout the 216-mile race course, the so-called "Mini Baja 500" course. Teams not only faced racing challenges, but those associated with racing in Mexico. Throughout the following week, DIRTnewz will bring you the stories from the racers.


Andy McMillin pulls off a top 10 at the SCORE Baja 250

Andy McMillin pulled off a top 10 finish at the SCORE Baja 250 despite losing a drive belt 5 miles from the finish. Battling through dust and traffic, Andy drove the McMillin Red Bull trophy truck the entire 216 mile race, finishing 7th in class and 8th overall with a final time of 4:08:22. Starting off in 18th position, Andy worked his way up to 6th position by the Ojos Negro’s road crossing. Steadily working his way up, Andy was in the top 5 in time before he was temporarily stopped by a broken serpentine drive belt.

    ENSENADA, Mexico—In what will surely go done as one of the closest races in SCORE desert racing history Hawaii’s Alan Pflueger drove his Chevy Silverado to the Overall 4-Wheel vehicle and SCORE Trophy-Truck titles in Saturday’s record-setting 21st Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 250. With a victory margin of 11 seconds over the SCORE Trophy-Trucks of second place Tim Herbst and 17 seconds over third place B.J. Baldwin, Pflueger powered his No. 28 Pflueger Racing Chevy Silverado over the dusty 216.23-mile course to a winning time of four hours, four minutes and 37 seconds, averaging 52.97 miles per hour.

    ENSENADA, Mexico—Helping celebrate the 21st anniversary of the Tecate SCORE Baja 250 desert race, a race-record field of nearly 400 entries, including 57 racers, who have a combined 153 Class wins between them, are heading to Mexico this week along with of thousands of spectators looking for an early ‘spring break’ in Mexico’s majestic Baja California peninsula.  Leading the field will be Garron Cadiente, and the teams of Robby Bell/Kendall Norman and Wayne Matlock/Chad Prull, the defending Overall/SCORE Trophy-Truck, motorcycle and ATV race champions, respectively.

Round 2 of the 2007 SCORE Desert Series to run From Ensenada to Santo Tomas

   LOS ANGELES—While late registration will continue right up to race morning, there are currently a race-record 394 official entries in next Saturday’s 21st Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 250 desert race. Round 2 of the six-race 2007 SCORE Desert Series will start in Ensenada and finish in Santo Tomas, Baja California, Mexico.
     “The number of entries in the Tecate SCORE Baja 250 is remarkable by itself, but when you consider that in spite of the incredible challenges forced upon us to change race venues, to have our entries climb to this level is a real testament to the commitment of our SCORE racers”, said Sal Fish, SCORE CEO and President. “Since we had to change venues on Monday, we have had another 41 new entries and only 11 official withdrawals.  SCORE has worked incredibly hard this week with the help of government officials in Mexico to put together a challenging and exciting race course and a fun start in Ensenada and a good finish line area in Santo Tomas.”.

Mikey Childress / Andy Grider Team Up For Wild Run at Baja 250

Hesperia, California (March 2, 2007) SCORE Baja 1000 Champion, Mike Childress, smiled wide recently when he let the cat out of the bag announcing that he and multi-time Baja champion, Andy Grider, were teaming up for the 2007 SCORE Baja races.

"Andy is stoked and I'm stoked about us heading to Baja together as a team facing the competition. We're not going to Baja for second place," said a confident Mike Childress.

Andy Grider, Dakar motorcycle veteran and more recently, navigator for NASCAR/Off Road Racing veteran, Robby Gordon's 2007 Dakar Rally race, is poised to join one of desert racings fiercest competitors in a quest to unseat the factory backed motorcycle teams that have long dominated the desert.

Because of ongoing political issues beyond its control, SCORE International was notified by the municipal authorities of San Felipe Monday that next week’s 21st Annual Tecate SCORE Baja 250 could not be held there, forcing SCORE to secure a new venue. SCORE has announced that next week’s race will start in Ensenada and finish in Santo Tomas, Baja California, Mexico, on the Pacific Ocean side of the majestic peninsula.  The race has previously been held in San Felipe, on the eastern side of the Baja California peninsula.

Due to irreconcilable differences between the city of San Felipe and one of the San Felipe Ejido land of the majestic peninsula.  The race has previously been held in San Felipe, on the eastern side of the Baja California peninsula.
