SCORE's
40th Anniversary Tecate Baja 1000 Packed the Streets of Ensenada
Race Teams and Fans make their
way thru the soaked streets of Ensenada at SCORE's Contingency
& Tech Inspection
Ensenada,
Baja, California – Nov. 12, 2007 – After southern
storms soaked the streets of Ensenada over 400 racers, all
vying for a chance to beat the Baja terrain this week, joined
together for SCORE's 40th annual contingency and tech inspection.
Dirtnewz staffers got a chance to catch up with some racers
who all agreed that this year's race was going to be a battle
to beat baja and not each other. Cameron Steele took time
with Dirtnewz and told us that Loreto was a swamp after the
huge storm that recently came thru, and that slower is faster
for this years 40th Anniversary SCORE Baja 1000.

Some teams found ways to hide from the storms
hanging overhead

Equipped with a Viper V10, Fox Shox and Mastercraft
Seats this newly built Jimco Class 1 of John Harrah's Speed
Technologies cruised the streets at contingency catching everyone's
eye.

Wide Open Baja was busy this afternoon rolling
16 Baja Challenge Racecar's thru the long contingency line,
it was Monster Madness surrounding every one of them including
seven time national Supercross Champion, Jeremy McGrath. McGrath
will get behind
the wheel of the Monster Energy/ BFGoodrich/ Wide Open Baja
Challenge Car seen above. Other crossover racers to compete
in this years Baja 1000 will be Patrick Demsey, Erin Crocker,
Tracy Jordan, Boris Said, Ken Block, Dave Mirra, and a vast
field of newcomers to off road racing.
