Bully Dog's Greg Adler Lands Top 10 Finish in Round 7 at 'The Quarry' in Chula Vista, California

August 4, 2008 - The 4 Wheel Parts Motorsports Team headed back to Chula Vista, California for rounds 7 & 8 of the CORR season. The team was feeling confident after a strong test session at the track in early July.

Saturday’s Points Race
The truck was feeling good the moment it hit the dirt.  With a few minor sway bar adjustments we were ready for qualifying and recorded the 6th fastest time out of 24 trucks.  The 4 Wheel Parts team was fired up to start in row 3 of the highly competitive Pro-2 class.  When the green flag dropped, we battled with Jeremy McGrath & Todd LeDuc for position.  By the half way point we had moved up to the 5th position.  The truck was working well except it liked to land hard on the nose off the big front stretch jump making for a few interesting landings (Steve Barlow later proved the potential of a bad landing during the Pro-4 race).  With a few laps to go we were pushing on LeDuc for 4th place when we spun out and were hit by McGrath.  Johnny Greaves also snuck by and put us in 7th place.  The frustration got to the driver on the next lap while trying to get back to a top 5 spot, we clipped the wall.  A broken rear track bar caused us to limp around the last lap for a 12th place disappointing finish.

Sunday’s Points Race
The crew worked hard to fix the damage and get the truck ready for Sunday.  This included a major change in shock valving to help the truck fly prouder in the nose.  Sunday’s qualifying session went great with the truck earning the 4th fastest time.  A good draw for the inversion gave us pole position for the first LIVE race on NBC.  When the green flag dropped we went side by side with Carl Renezeder into turn 1 and held our own for a few laps.  After settling into a top 3 spot some contact with Ricky Johnson caused us to slip to 5th place.  After the half way caution flag we mixed it up with the Top 5 drivers in hopes of gaining some spots but instead spun out and finished in 7th place.  Another disappointing finish, but the team left Chula Vista with the confidence that we have elevated our game and can run out front with the top dogs!  The 4 Wheel Parts Pro-2 will be ready to do battle in Pomona on August 16-17th.
