The 4 Wheel Parts Motorsports Team headed back to Pomona, California for rounds 5 & 6 of the CORR season with a Positive Feeling after Primm, Nevada

Saturday’s Points Race
The truck was among the fastest in the first practice session on Saturday morning.  When qualifying started we ran a quick lap and then pushed harder on lap 2.  Unfortunately we hit a deep rut in a high banked turn and went for a ride.  The truck did one flip and then stuck the landing on the other side of the K rail.  We still managed to qualify 11th out of the ultra competitive 28 truck field on just 1 lap!  The 4 Wheel Parts crew went to work quickly to repair the damage and get the truck ready for the main event.  When the green flag dropped, we quickly mixed it up with several competitors.  By the half way point we had moved up to the 8th position.  The truck was working well thru the big whoops in the course and allowed us to set up several passes on the last turn of the track.  We finished a respectable 6th place behind 7 time champion Scott Taylor.

Sunday’s Points Race
Sunday’s qualifying session was very disappointing with a 16th place starting position.  After trying a few different tire grooves, we settled on one that we thought would work well.  When the green flag dropped we worked our way thru the field to get up to 9th at the half way caution flag.  The CORR officials soaked the track during the caution and our tire setup did not take well to this. After a quick spin we were making time up when we broke a tie rod (maybe pushing a little too hard).
Sunday’s race was very disappointing and the team left Pomona with a game plan to get the 4 Wheel Parts Pro-2 back to the front of the field.  The level of competition continues to rise in Pro-2 and we will be ready to do battle in Chula Vista on July 26-27th.
